conveyor belt test

ever since I first started working with Newton I've wanted to make a conveyor belt... but I never got around to it. yesterday I decided to give it a quick try, and it was almost too easy (using a ContactCallback)!!

here's a video of the results. I think it works pretty good for a quick test! :D

this demo will be included in the next release of OgreNewt :)

cool! i like the stencil shadows in this one! the only thing missing is a scrolling texture. :) would this be easy with ogre?

extremely easy. I just tossed this together in a few minutes... I'll update the texture and what not before I release the next OgreNewt version :D

Ah I see you are mastering some of the secrets of the Newton side.
How is it the last time we met I was the Master and you where the apprentice, now You are the Master and I am the apprentice my powers are weak. (or something like that in reverse).
There are sore hidden powers in Newton that may consider unnatural.
Very nice and very nice presentation too.

I have tried to make a conveyor myself for the simulation of industrial processes. However, it did not look that good !

How ? !

it's really, really easy. in the ContactCallback (material callback), you simply use the following commands:

NewtonMaterialContactRotateTangentDirections to align the tangent with the direction of the conveyor belt.

and then

NewtonMaterialSetContactTangentAcceleration - to apply an acceleration to the contact. that's really all there is to it.

unfortunately this must be done inside the contact callback, so it's impossible in the DBPro wrapper, as there's no way to let the user create their own callbacks :(

p.s. I added an animated texture, and it looks really cool!
