Marble Blowout v1.2 (freeware game)

Postby rrg » Fri Jul 24, 2009 12:49 pm

It been nearly a year of development and I'm happy to release Marble Blowout. This game is 100 percent free and is a complete game with 50 levels and unlockables.

--version 1.2--
fix some small bugs

--version 1.1--
Hopefully i fixed some issues involving the game not running on some computers. I got rid of the launch screen and add options and help menus on the title screen.

--Info--

Marble Blowout is one of those classic games where you roll a ball to the end of the level. In this game you will collect crystals scattered around the level. If you collect all the crystals you will unlock a new ball. Some balls that you unlock are special and certain levels require these balls to access different parts of the level. There are different themes such as Western or Mayan. The Game uses Irrlicht Engine and of course Newton Game Dynamics for physics.

Looks really good. I'm making a marble game in Newton too but it doesn't look nearly as nice as yours. :) I'll definitely have to give it a play!

I played the first 9 levels or so and I must say it is good. You have a good mix of straight up platform along with physics puzzles for the player. As you say it is a complete game, and I thought it was well polished.

One area of improvement I can see is with the camera controls. You should look into using the Mouse to swivel the camera smoothly around the marble, with the WASD keys controlling the movement relative to the camera. Having the camera only available at 90 degree increments, and just using the keyboard, was a little frustrating at times.
