Impresive, but that are barrels right? And you have explosion with your barrels . So why don0t combine the two of them and make explode some and thi other recieve the explosion too like a chain explosions.
I think that will show more impreseive to your engine.

Honestly I don't want to add anything into this renderer unless I spend a lot of time on it and it is perfect. So I think my particle explosions would pollute the perfection of this scene.

I get it Julio ;)

The only difference is that the above videos looks 100% realtime, while Crysis physics videos are recorded offline and dubbed

This had to be recorded slowly because I was saving PNG images out each frame, but I think it would run in realtime on a fast CPU.

But have you tried? I have seen your explosion scenes and don't look bad at all.
So why don't try 1000 barrils more explosion?

Ok, Ok, don't get angry ;-).

It just that your close to do a similar video like the one from crysis.
I didn' know that was a differente rendering.

No, it requires that I write the callbacks in C, and I have too many other things to do.

About the speed:
I think it depending more on the mesh vertices count and the newton step that you use and the way to render your mesh... but it's nothing magical  .
And maybe some contact's can coming deleted depending on the quality simulation that you need.
You search a nice physics solution, if you can read this message you're at the good place

The rendering speed is not an issue at all. It is very fast when physics are disabled.
