creating an elevator

Postby Scorpion » Sun Dec 07, 2008 11:17 am

hello I started creating an elevator, but had not the biggest success with it...

I want to have a platform, that always moves between 2 positions. Its angles should be fixed and if something falls on it it should react(just the position, not the angles)

For the movement I did this in the fore and tourque callback and added damping:
Code: Select all
vec_set(force,my.newPos);
vec_sub(force,my.x);
vec_scale(force,100);
NewtonBodySetForce(body, force);

It should be exactly on the 'newPos', but it's always moving around it in circles.

Can you tell me how i can create the wanted behavior exactly?

Thank you
Scorpion

Did you try using a slider? Can you show your joint setup code if so?
