Portable code.

Postby Vsk » Tue Aug 19, 2008 4:11 pm

Hello, long time no see :-).
Well, kinda off topic but it was here where I first (and only) heard about it.
Some time ago reading some topic, some user says that he uses "xx" tool for generating/create code for linux, mac , windows ,etc. compatible, he recommended it to Julio, even Julio says that he was going to watch it.
It is all that I remember.
I said "tool" because I don't even remember what exactly it was.
Sorry for the lack of information, I have look in the forum but don't find it.
Did you remember it or know what I am talking about?.
Thanks.

The only "tool" here is yourself. Either you write portable, platform-independent code, or you don't - a tool can't fix that.

Hi agi-shi, yes, that is my doubt, maybe I confusing compatible code with some other portable capabilitie. But I almost sure that it was some "tool" or "ide" or whatever could made that work. (And not, it was not some kind of "inside force" ;-))
It was a post in which Julio was talking about version x of newton and some mac user ask for the mac version...
then a user in that conversation explain that he uses that "tool" that (at least as i remember) simplifies very much this work so it would be useful for Julio for newton development for several platforms. Even Julio said he was going to try it.
I'll keep searching, if I find it I let you know.
See ya.
(keep up the portals ;-) ).

Ok, it was something like this:

But it was not this, because I don't find it in the forum, (at least with the forum conversation some posts were deleted).
Or like this:
