Getting my MagicStairs physics stable

Postby Lax » Tue Apr 09, 2019 2:45 pm

Hi all,

I'm experimenting with joint sliders and created a so called MagicStairs. Now when I start the simulation, the stairs are created, but become somewhat unstable. See video:

https://youtu.be/O9I4GeVBMuQ

Parameter for all Stairs:
- Physics FPS 120
- Stiffness: 0.9
- Gravity: -19.7
- MinStopDistance: -0.2
- No recursive collision between the joints
- Linear/Angular damping: 0.1

I tried several values, but nothing does stable the physics.

Has somebody any idea? Is there another parameter, how to get the physics to rest?

Best Regards

MinStopDistance? most likely the stop distance calculation is bogus, you are using old joint system, you need to use the joint library

with the new system it should just work

Hi Julio,

I'm using the new joint library, its just the name of my wrapper functions.
But maybe I try with friction for the slider.
