Migrating to newest version

Postby misho » Sun Apr 09, 2017 6:46 pm

Hi all!

I'm migrating to the newest version of the Newton. I don't work with git so I'm downloading the zip archive. Last time I did this was about a year ago (I'm working with comparatively simple stuff so I don't need latest and greatest  ). Also, I work with double precision, so I use VS2010 static MT versions - last time I remember, Julio was saying he has issues with building DP in VS2013 and VS2015.

My project requires a minimum of 8 Newton libs (listed below), and my solution from a year ago contained all of these and compiled with no major issues.

core.lib
dContainers.lib
dJointLibrary.lib
dMath.lib
dNewton.lib
newton.lib
physics.lib
pthread.lib

Now, upon downloading the newest newton-dynamics-master, I'm finding out that:

dJointLibrary is gone. Has it been deprecated/absorbed by dCustomJoints?

Also, pthread is gone as well. Has that been deprecated and isn't needed any longer?

Thanks for any input!

Hi.

The joint library has been renamed to dCustomJoints and pthreads has been replaced with C++11 threads, see viewtopic.php?p=59851#p59851.
