Current status of NEON support in 3.13?

Postby Colin » Tue Jan 20, 2015 7:54 pm

Hi,

I plan on using Newton for my Android/iOS game and I'm wondering if Newton currently has NEON intrisics (or inlined assembly.) If not, then I will be happy to try my hand at adding them myself.

In that spirit, here is an interesting library you may like: https://github.com/projectNe10/Ne10. It is a library full of NEON intrisics from ARM themselves. (BSD 3-clause.)

Also, in case you wanted AVX intrisics, I also found some solid routines in the excellent ozz-animation library (zlib) https://code.google.com/p/ozz-animation/source/browse/#git%2Finclude%2Fozz%2Fbase%2Fmaths%2Finternal. He has them for SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE 4.2, and AVX. They're neatly separated from the rest of the library, and would only require a namespace change to hot-swap into Newton. The developer is also a really nice guy. :)

Cheers!
Colin
