Getting started with Collision detection in Newton

Postby Vincentjl » Sun Oct 30, 2011 3:48 pm

I have a simple game using irrlicht, where I'm doing custom collision detection which is quite simple because I only have blocks and spheres, and they are effectively only moving in 2d currently. I wanted to extend this using the collision detection feature of newton, but I'm having trouble finding a good starting point for getting to now Newton. It seems that most the tutorials in the wiki are extremely old and are using different interfaces for many functions, which makes it confusing, and I haven't gotten anything compiled yet.

Anyone out there who's got a minute to describe a short "do this first" case for how to proceed, which functions to get to know etc.?
