Having trouble updating wheels

Postby frampha » Thu Oct 21, 2010 8:51 am

hi I am using Newton 1.53 yeah I know its abit old anyway its for my final year project. I am attempting to create Vehicle, car to be precise
the problem am getting is it only works if certain conditions are met i.e. if the mass of the wheels is 5 but not 6 etc if I just change one variable then I cant accelerate.
Even when it works as soon as I stop I cant move the vehicle again. Any suggestions will be most appreciated and thanks in advance..

ps I am using it with Irrlicht but that shouldnt really matter

you need to reactivate / unfreeze the body manually i think that's how 1.53 worked.

This was changed in 2.0, the bodies reactivate automaticly when you apply sufficient force in forcetorque callback, as 2.0 will always call the callback while 1.53 only calls it when app unfreezes the body, and will freeze automaticly when a body is standing still (a bit annoying, newton 2.0 way is much better).
