[C++, DX9] Collision Tree question

Postby Ripiz » Sat Aug 07, 2010 5:51 am

My model consists of 4000 triangles, which I add to Collision Tree, as well as inverted triangles for double sided collision, so it makes 8000 triangles in collision tree. But when I call NewtonTreeCollisionEndBuild my application memory usage jumps to 2GB and application crashes. Does Newton Collision Tree have any limit on triangle amount?

No limit on triangle, but ther collision tree does not handle double faces.

and application mamnoy foe tree of 8 tringle sodub be onder one meg, no more.

you cna mesure teh memory use by newton by usin memory allocator call backs, see teh SDK.

Newton is the Physics engine witg the the smallest memory footprint of all physics engine.
