Recent versions: unstable resting contacts?

Postby Aphex » Tue Mar 24, 2009 4:54 pm

Not really a bug, more of an observation, that in recent versions of Newton2 I've noticed some instability in objects resting on other (moving) objects? It used to be solid, but now there's some detectable jitter in there. I'm using the double precision version so YMMV of course... but does anyone else have a similar setup and have noticed this? Could possibly be the result of recent work on v2 solver?

OK got an avi here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/martingbell/files/PhysicsJitter01.rar
The aircraft body is moved via Newton and the camera is attached to the aircraft. The ship it's on is moving via my own buoyancy forces.
I only noticed this as Newton is usually rock-solid with no jittering :)
This is a Newton2 sdk from around 4 months ago (latest public one blows up my custom vehicle...)
