From the Newton 2.0 zipped SDK file, I saw this

In the PhysUtil.cpp file,
in void GenericContactProcess (const NewtonJoint* contactJoint, dFloat timestep, int threadIndex)

speed = NewtonMaterialGetContactNormalSpeed(material);

is called twice.
