Lower than 60 fps?

Postby mikeman42 » Fri Mar 13, 2009 8:32 pm

In my demo I have a lot of bodies colliding, which in many machines is causing a lag if I update at >60 fps. I tried implementing a solution where I update 20 times per second, and I interpolate the body matrices so it's smooth. Would that be a problem? I think that Newton doesn't accept updates with time bigger than 1/60, is that correct? And if so, what happens if the machine *can't handle* 60 fps? Is there a solution, or anyway to bypass that limit so I can have updates bigger than 1/60 sec?

What version of newton are you using? 1.53 or 2.0?

I'm using 1.53. Why, are things different with 2.0?
