Well, hello :)

i'm too working to get height-fields in our own engine. for the example HeightFieldCollision i wanted to ask if you could explain what CalculateMinExtend2d(), CalculateMinExtend3d() and ClipRay2d() are doing. and what is "a line segment" and a cell? sorry for maybe stupid questions...and i'm german if that helps you explaining it :o

the you are in luck, 2.0 have a build in hightfield shape wich is mich more effiecient tha teh user define defined in 1.53

you would not have to waooried about any of those helper functions.

It also come with the old use define higl field fo peopel who wna this un special implemnetation.
but for more than 95% of the people the shape is good, and can be edited in real time.

I suggest checking 2.0

i'm really sorry...but we didn't try NGD 2 because of the beta-status. if there are no errors :P (i don't know it...please tell me weather there are some or not...). our engine is a project for university, we got lots of stuff to do, so i do not have time to try...so if the change i have to do is little (i've written a material-system for best and efficient material-support, that wont be much necessary for NGD 2, for what i read in this case), i think we will do it! edition in real-time would be very very usefull!

...but otherwise it would be nice if you could explain it although :)

While 2.0 Beta may have some errors lying around. Its got FAR LESS bugs/limitations than 1.53 .

All known bugs of 1.53 are fixed it 2.0
there are some thing pending in 2.0 but the are for the moust part special thing for very specific people.
