NewtonMaterialSetContactTangentAcceleration

Postby derdragon » Mon Feb 23, 2009 10:05 am

I was wondering how the tangent accelerations are calculated when NewtonMaterialSetContactTangentAcceleration is not used. My reason for this is, if I set the acceleration for both tangents to zero, there is essentially no friction. I'd like to just skew what the acceleration WOULD be, for something I'm trying to do with a character controller, basically. For example, if I were to make my character move across a wooden surface, he'd have more traction than he would on an icy surface, and I'm assuming the tangent accelerations would be less where there is less traction, but I'm not sure how they're calculated. A NewtonMaterialGetContactTangentAcceleration would be really handy.
