Monster Truck Newton 4 video & demo preview.

Postby Dave Gravel » Tue Nov 01, 2022 2:57 am

WIP:
It is just an early quick monster truck preview demo.
I need to add and fix many things again.

I have add two exe for the monster truck.
One with softer suspension.
One with harder suspension.
The difference between both suspension values is little but it give a pretty big difference on the truck behavior.

I have add an exe for drive the yellow 4x4 truck, but the material friction are not fully implemented.
It can give some strange behavior about the tire friction.
It is not a bug, it is an unfinished feature.

DOWNLOAD Demo:
You need a video card compatible OpenGL 4.6
Read the readme.txt file for the keyboard commands.

Are you just using multiple bodies and some slider/spring and hinge joints, or something more specialized?

I use the model vehicle class from newton 4.
It is a multibody implementation chassis, wheels, motor, transmission all have physics entity.
The vehicle in the video and demo is based on the ndBasicVehicle.cpp exemple demo from newton sdk.

Did you make this with springs/sliders and hinges, or is it something more specialized?

I have already reply to you about it in the message before.
I use the vehicle class from newton and my demo is based on the newton basic vehicle demo.
The multibody vehicle use the model class.
The model class in newton is a very useful tool for make joint construction like vehicle, robot and a lot more.

The vehicle construction use special vehicle tire joint and it is used from inside the model class.
Take a look inside the basic vehicle demo in the sdk.
It is the best exemple for understand how it working.
