This is the "Gallery" section of the forum, so everything is ment to be showing what people have created. Hence why all the videos in this topic are just showing what people have created. I don't see how a video would be better than a tutorial on the wiki as you can read stuff at your own pace, study it, etc. With a video you only get shown stuff once.

Wow very coll anoteh first person game.

I think the magnafying effect on the candle is too over the top.
it is a very cool effect, but if you make it the norm then it becomes a nuance.

Other than that very, very coll.
I added to the list of videos on the first post.
Thank for posting

Nice effects on the skull projector, the graphically this is pretty impressive but the models are just a bit static, i was waiting for the creature there come to life but it just stayed static :(

"but the models are just a bit static"... same for me, sadly I'am no artist and this model wasn't animated - but a 3D artist friend of mine said that as soon as he has some spare time he'll rigg the creature and animate it... can't wait... although an animated mesh and physics interaction can become a problem

That's task for animators, inverse kinematics and character controller.

Just thought I would show everyone some early progress of my MMORPG engine using Newton.

From youtube description:
Client side prediction with server sending snapshots at 50ms.
Interpolation is used to make the visuals seem smooth.
The jittery character drawn on top of the player is the last real server position.

So basicly its collision on client and server at the same time.

Those spawned players are all simulated on the server.

Fantastic :)
At 1:00, green line are newton bounding box?
I like spawned players (Remember me a SG1 episode when Teal'c is stuck in a virtual training world).

Don't you think some heavy polygons (like lion's head) could use convex instead of tree collision?
Do you use your own player controller to move player body?

Really good work.

Thanks, the green line are just AABB's visualized by newton.
Its just simple min and max vectors of each sub mesh.

I am not sure about convex, I am going to do Scene collision soon
because Julio is making a proxy controller and he says that Scene collision is best.
There is actually still a bug when a character can tunnel straight through the lion.
I have no idea why that is.

I use the character controller from the samples as well as dThread and dSimulation functions.

Glad you found dTread Usefull, it is a simple thread encapsulation for quick and asyncronouce implementation

King can I test a demo? I would like to check that tunnelling Bug.
That sound like a big problem that needs fixing.
