Really nice!
KabOOM I like it.
You search a nice physics solution, if you can read this message you're at the good place :wink:

Really nice.
About the propane cane when you shoot on it you can add some smoke and fire outing from the bullet hole and make it explode after a little delay.
You can surely add a point force repulsion where the bullet hole is create.
Not so much repulsion because normaly this cane have a good mass.
Exemple the repulsion make the propane cane go in horizontal position and make it rotate on the floor just before explode something like this.
Like a dynamite propane gaz, the hole is where the fire success to enter to remove all air before explode.

It is just some ideas.
Nice video and nice work.

Contact damage is very difficult to configure.

I tried using the contact force to add damage, if the force is over a certain threshhold. But that did not work as well as basing damage off sudden acceleration...but then you lose mass as a factor. A train running towards you at 5 MPH will do a lot more damage than a ball.

You have the velocity of the impact through the normal don't you?
And even I think you can get the velocity for each body before the collissioned;
And you have the mass of every body, so you can use (I think is the better) momentum for computing damage.
You besides can add to the computing algorith the elasticity of each body (I think this also is important on damage collision):
In this way you have no problem about the mass of the object, his velocity and even his energy restitution.

Greate video, I like the city "real life" sensation, I don't know wich effect you used but it gives a realistic sensations. Very nice. :)
