Hi ...
I want to show you my current project. It's a Kicker game using Newton.
I'm working on it since july or so and now i wanna show you how far i am.
The motivation of making a Kicker game came from my real life. on weekend i allways play kicker with my friends. you could say i'm addicted to it and then i saw another kicker game but it wasnt satisfying and so i said i would make it better
The game is written in C++ using OpenGL as 3D API, SDL for window and file management and in future for network and maybe sounds. And of course Newton
It doesn't feature any graphical effects except shadows and should be playable on older systems, too (not tested).
It's easy to play:
Use the mouse to move the active stick.
right click activates the next stick on the right
left click activates the next stick on the left
numbers 1-4 activate the assosiated stick
space resets the ball when it's in goal or out of range (a message will be displayed when reset is possible)
with mouse wheel you can zoom in and out
esc goes back to the menu
in the current version there are 2 new features (atm just experimental):
1. advanced controling mode:
use a mousepointer to select a stick and move while selected
2. "aggressive" mode (don't know how to call it because it isnt really aggressive *g*):
players are seperated in head, body and foot, so the player can break when hitting too hard

and now the links:
Windows (ZIP): http://home.foni.net/~stegen-joachim/Ki ... 4b_eng.zip
Windows (Installer): http://home.foni.net/~stegen-joachim/Ki ... 4b_eng.exe
Linux: http://home.foni.net/~stegen-joachim/ki ... 4b.tar.bz2
The Linux version is currently on german because i'm to lazy to change the configuration. you can change it to english in the menu (set Optionen/Verschiedenes/Sprache to 'English' and restart game)...
For the Linux version you need to have SDL, SDL_image and SDL_net (i'm currently working on network support, but it's disabled) installed (i think newton is installed )
I hope here is someone to enjoy it and please give a little feedback ... thx
Greetings
Shai
