Squares 3D (sports arcade)

Postby martinsm » Thu Nov 30, 2006 5:27 pm

Hello!
I want to show you game I made together with my friend (tres^).
Game is called Squares 3D and we are participating with it in Latvian Game Developer Contest 2006 - Indago: http://indago.gamez.lv/ (unfortunately site is only in latvian language).
Competition is is organized each year with results announced in 3rd december (I let you know if we will win :)

Game is made after street game we are playing here in Latvia. General idea is to kick ball outside from other players field.
That will give penalty point to opponent. Who first gets 21 point - loses.
Read rules menu if you want to know more how to play :)

Game is made using Newton Game Dynamics physics engine.
Some of game main features:
* single player mode with special extra level
* multiplayer through network (up to 4 players)
* chatting in multiplayer
* widescreen display support
* shadow-mapping
* dynamic grass animation
* special effects - HDR
* positional 3D sound and streaming ogg music
* realistic physic simulation (for this thanks goes to Newton ;)
* powerful physic material system with sound effects on collisions
* player AI
* universal level loading from xml files - sound/music file list, game physic objects definitions, textures, player parameters, texts for game.
* multilanguage interface (latvian, russian, english, german)
* unciode text rendering with bitmapped fonts
* easy to use, rich feature menu system
* game data file packing in one zip file
* cross-platform - game supports Windows, GNU/Linux and MacOS X (Intel & PPC)

Downloads are available here (~26 MB each):
Squares3D-1.1.2-Windows.exe
Squares3D-1.1.2-MacOSX.dmg
Squares3D-1.1.2-Linux.tar.gz

Hope you will like it.
