Can you send me a screenshot of this?

would be nice to enable disable sound in the actual screensaver

I put it on my todo list.

I just cranked it up to full detail and it crashed (twice). at the same time I also increased the number of dolphins to 2 so I don't know which caused the crash..

Can you please look into C:\Documents and Settings\Your Userid\Application Data\AridOcean and send me the file 'arid_ocean.log' which should be there?

Regards
Michael

http://www.dave.serveusers.com/bugterrain.jpg
I can't back to the normal because when I go under the terrain the collision start to work correcly but from under the terrain.

I don't see the FPS information but the speed looking good.
My video cart is a Ati x700 pro
I have Winxp sp2 all updates.
512 meg ddr
CPU XP2000+

In your app
I never have get the collision from the top terrain, I get it all times only from under terrain it is a constant problem on my computer with your app.

I have get a other little bug too when the app loading I have get a crash windows bug report and I have try to restart the application sometime to get it again but I have get it only one time.

I have around 15 recent game in my hd DX and GL and all working good, I running Oblivion correctly with my little system.
I have a lot newton applications too, it is the first time I see this terrain collision problem. My computer is pretty stable.

If you need more informations and if I can help no problem.

I believe I found and fixed the crash bug. Please download the new version and check it out.

You can see the fps by pressing 'F' while the program is running.

I have no idea about the collision bug yet. I'll look into it.

nVidia GeForce FX5500
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
1GB RAM
Windows XP Home

Usually get around 20-30 FPS depending on amount of fish on screen. Very nice looking simulation though, love the day/night effect and fish animations.

I only saw this little jitter at one part of the terrain, seemed to jitter in and out as if you had another terrain at the same level. Can't remember what this is called.

Both shots are from the same problem area, second one obviously in the night.

Perhaps you have "Limit Frame Rate" set to on in the settings dialog. This is to save resources when the program is running as a screensaver.

@zeno60: Can you please download and test the new version I just uploaded? The flickering should be gone. Please look specifically along the base of the arches in the first scene, these areas are sensitive for it.

@cleathley: Please send the complete log to admin@aridocean.com.

@k00m: Please download and test the latest version. I increased the size of the camera object. Perhaps this fixes the collision bug?

The speed is better I getting around 35 to 60 fps but not more collision.
What I find wierd when i'm under the terrain the collision working very good. Before pass under the terrain the camera looking to touch nothing no reaction no speed reduction. From the other side all working good.

Edit: I don't see the option about Camera size object.
Can you add a close button in your setting menu ? or a execute for your app directly from setting.

The collision with the fish is ok.

Hm... That's really strange. The collision is rock solid here on my machine, and I can't even imagine why it doesn't work for you.

Julio, are you around? Any ideas?

I don't think.... I have a german XP here, and we use ',' a separator, so this would apply to me, too.

k00m: I uploaded a special test version to
http://www.aridocean.com/files/aridoceansetuptest.exe

I tentatively changed the winding order on the collision polygons, since you reported that you can penetrate the ground only in one direction. Could you please take the time and try this out?
