BLOCKED!
In another life, you were Budge: a reckless, careless, inventor. Yet good of heart. Now stuck in a mysterious limbo, you have a dreadful feeling that you are incomplete. You can no longer talk or invent the things you were once able to. Soon you discover that your soul has been split into separate shards.

The creative spirit has dislodged from your soul, and without your heart to guide him, he has become mischievous and mad with power. Inventing fiendish machines and diabolical traps, he aims to stay free from you forever. The only chance you have to become whole again, is to find the scattered shards of your soul and trap him. He calls himself Block, and he stole your smile!

THE GAME...
You must find each Shard and secure it. There are energy Wells throughout the world. Place a Shard inside a Well to secure it, then touch the Well. Gathering items around the Well will cause it to generate Power. You can then get Energy from the Power in each Well. Some enemies will try to destroy the treasure near your wells, and some will try to capture your wells. Most will try to destroy you! You will have to defeat them, and force Block into a final showdown. There are hints, tips, and walkthrus in our forums.
The game uses NEWTON physics version 1.50

We hope you have fun playing Blocked!

that is THE weirdest game ever :) I couldn't stay connected to any servers (does the port need to be open?) I managed to complete a single player level, the end robot is cool. It was hard to know what was going on for a while and even now I'm not really sure why I was doing what I was doing :) Rocks for energy that turn into big concrete blocks? Actually the tutorial explained very little despite lots of hints, the normal level shed some light on it, but I'm still confused

lol  thanks for the comment, i take that as a compliment !

the server is in Canada so I suppose maybe the connection might be too much.
The client tries to use 6942 UDP/TCP by default, although only servers should require open ports.

We do get alot of feedback that the game ideas are a little crazy and confusing, however that was our goal, so to speak.
The world that you enter doesnt make sense at first, but as you play more and more, you figure out how it works! :)

The second level is even more disorienting, so if you need hints and help, everything is explained in our forums.

cheers

hey aidave2, nice game from what I've played so far, I liked it alot :)

Your previous version I did notice that if you knocked the shard into the corners of the terrain that it was, at times tricky to get out, maybe I'm just a bad player

thanks glad u liked it!

Yes that was an issue early on,
of small objects falling thru the terrain.

When i attempted to check for that, and move those objects back up (the shard being the biggest offender...err "smallest" offender),
sometimes i didnt move the object up quite high enough, and as a result they became stuck into the terrain.

That should be compensated for in the latest version.
Now that may be still occuring in crumpled corners of the terrain (alot of strange things can happen there), but I have yet to encounter it!

I also like the game.
It could be great if the controls were better. Especially the movement of the blocks. If the movement spell worked more like a spring it would be easier to control the rocks.
And another problem is that the MP doesn't work at all  Sometimes I can connect to the server and shoot some fireballs, but then everything "dies".

This is meant to be a constructive criticism. The game is really good.

We are designing a new system of blocks etc
To solve those issues...

Are you behind a firewall? I'm curious why some people cant get UDP traffic to flow... they end up getting the boot.

Also are you a musician?

I'm behind a router, but opened ports 6941 and 6942.
Also, ATM I don't receive the list of servers anymore.

Also are you a musician?

I have no clue why you could be thinking that. Is it my nickname? 'Xerxes' was the evil computer in System Shock 2 :D

I restarted the list server...
Unfortunately there seems to be connection issues with some computers...
I cant recreate it to test it tho :(

Yeah Xerxes is an electronic musician too, just wondering ;)
