Cheers XPoint & Walaber, have received your translations this morning.
Walaber made a good point about some of the text, which in English has double meanings, but in your chosen language may not make a lot of sense.
If you find any like this, just leave them english, I'll come up with an easier translatable variation tonight.

Cheers

Only thing I left english was 'Credits', for as far I know most dutch games here have the same word for it. :) Same for 'Gamma', didn't know the right translation, but I'm sure it's the same. For the rest it maked sense to me, exept for 'Bit Depth', not sure, like registration information said.

Hi folks,
If you are unsure of a translation for Gamma, just change it to 'Brightness'
also for BitDepth, just change and leave as BPP.

I will be adding received languages tonight, and adding code to detect which languages are installed on a persons machine, and the default machine language tonight, which puts my UI Alpha Release at Tomorrow Night.

Will add any received languages in, up until my Final Build tomorrow night.

After that they will go into the next release.

Thanks for all of your support to date, its been awesome.

Cheers

Hi Folks,
Well I have now included translations for
Japanese
Swedish
Dutch
French

and Added a Jokish one for all the Australians out there
have Korean tomorrow so that'll be good.

If you want to check out what your work look like I have added a new ScreenShots section with shots of the engine running the new translations, and the Credit Page as it stands to date.

All the Best

dazza, 'Gamma' must be 'Helderheid', and the text 'I believe I can Fly' must be translated to 'Ik geloof dat ik kan vliegen' (I forgot the k with Ik  ).

I also have a better translation for 'Jump off a building Causing as much damage to your character as possible': 'Doe je karakter zoveel mogelijk schade door van een gebouw af te springen'.

For the rest the screenshots look cool. 8)

Cheers All,
I received Portuguese & German this morning, so will throw these in before beta tonight.

If anyone else out there could supply translations for the following languages that'd be much appreciated, as these are the only ones I have missing at the moment.

Russian
Spanish
Italian

That will give us a good grounding of most languages.

:o RELEASE TIME :o

Hi Folks, well I've put an Alpha Release up on our site for Registered Users.
When you login to our Site, in the far right menu you will have a Downloads Link in your UserMenu
Just Click on that and select the UIAlpha to Download.

If you want to check it out and are not registered, just go to this link to register
http://www.nastyrash.com/mambo/index.ph ... k=register

Cheers
Dazza

PS. If you are interested in how this UI works, theres a breif Description in our Forums

Heres a copy of the release notes to save you downloading if you have below minimum specs etc
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MaimGame - Alpha UI Test - 03 March 2006
We have Virus Checked all Software prior to release with the latest Virus Definitions
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Requirements:
Windows XP, A Decent 3D Video Card, 1.5GHz processor or greater & a sense of Humor
If you have DirectX 9c you should be OK, but if you experience any problems I would recommend downloading the latest DirectX Update
You can download the Latest Required DirectX Update from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
1. This is just a test of UI, and the Techniques I have implemented to display the UI. As such there is no real game play, that will be included in the next Beta Release. (Sorry to disappoint, but our models all look pretty bad at the moment and are being redone) If you get to a sky scene that would be equivalent to getting into the game.
2. You may not see all of the available languages on your Machine. The system will only show what languages you have installed, and all Single Byte Languages.
3. If it doesn’t work for some reason, please email feedback to dazza@nastyrash.com, or post on our forums at http://www.nastyrash.com, and I'll endeavor to fix the problems.
(If it doesn’t work, please give me a detailed description of what it does/doesn't do, which video card you have, which OS, how much ram etc etc. I will write these things into a system check thing, but haven’t had a chance to yet.
4. If it does work, I'd be interested in knowing what sort of frame rate you are getting and your machine specifications.
5. If the Display is quite slow, Note down the framerate and then press F12 which will switch off the background Objects, then report the new framerate and the old one back to us
6. Any Comments would be much appreciated, and could be worth a few beers if you're ever down in Christchurch, New Zealand.
(Beer offer not available to New Zealand Residents)
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Many Thanks to
Jan Willen v. Diermen - Dutch translation
Yoann GF Fayolle - French Translation
Walaber - Japanese translation
Chris Lee - Korean translation
Krister Svanlund - Swedish translation
Maycon Amaral - Portuguese translation
Torsten Kammer - German translation
*Google - Spanish, Chinese & Italian (Not Completed Proper Translations)
*PROMT-Online - Russian (Not Completed Proper Translations)

Looks realy nice, but sometimes it just freezes. (FPS still continues) Any idea what's wrong?

Last time I started it, it freezed at the main menu, and when I clicked somewhere it just went to a website. So I gues I was in the credits menu, so the UI still worked, but the graphics didn't.

Hi XPoint,
I have just had a report about the freezing of the UI occuring when you click an item before the animation has completed.

Will create an update and post it later on tonight.

Cheers XPoint,
I got your PM, I'll zip up the base code for rendering the flash, and write some notes up.
Its pretty tricky as far as flash is concerned, as you cant use the standard cursor or UI components, you have to pass the cursor position to the flash movie from the 3D engine, using Barycentric Co-ordinates.
