I've played for an hour maybe. It's dark, terrifying, and requires a lot of mental stamina.
A typical Frictional game. Introduction of a gun does not change this.
Have not encountered the monster yet.
Tech is solid. No stutters, and stable frame rate.
So it's different from the AAA experience also in this regard.
But i feel the visuals become a bit dated.
They do not really adopt the PBS standard. Maybe because they do not want to mess with reflection probes.
But consequently it looks dull. Some specular would help.
It's also way too dark for my taste. Feels it only uses the low 10% from the dynamic range of my display. I can barely see anything, and playing at day would be righteous impossible.
My eyes adapt after some minutes, but i wonder if tweaking with reshade might make it a better experience.
